QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years of medical office, customer service, billing, or related experience is required.
  • Elementary knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Deadline driven accountability and time management.
  • Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and drive to ensure customer satisfaction with each interaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Spanish fluency preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer to produce typed copy.
  • Capacity to communicate adequately, in person or via telephone, in a professional business manner.
  • Capability of dialing or otherwise using a telephone to place and receive telephone calls.
  • Willingness and capability to come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day as is necessary.
  • Willingness and capacity to sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time.
  • Capacity to pick up, leaf through and read books and files and other materials.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain regular attendance for normally scheduled hours, to work overtime and to be flexible to work other shifts as necessary (i.e., potential weekend schedule).

Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE

The Application Support Specialist position provides assistance with the configuration, setup, and maintenance of Plexis software products. Specializing in the resolution of complex problems related to the administration of governmental and commercial health insurance programs. This will include taking, logging, and responding to client support issues. Reported issues are submitted via telephone, e-mail, or the Plexis website. The position will take directions from the Supervisor of Client Support Services as well as contribute to the support team in a constructive manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Assist clients in the implementation and configuration of Plexis Software.
  • Provide clients advice on current industry standards and the most appropriate software configurations.
  • Possess knowledge of procedure and diagnosis codes and insurance/payer requirements.
  • Understand the current trends in insurance billing and other third party reimbursement issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve client issues with Plexis Products and related tools.
  • Possess strong people skills.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Successfully prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and cooperatively.
  • Coordinate with Plexis Development to provide code fixes when appropriate.
  • Provide timely follow-up and status updates to clients, as issues are processed and resolved.
