Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

We invite you to join our growing Psychology team. As part of the next phase of our expansion of Psychology provision in our adult community service we are looking for more psychologists at Band 8a, or Band 7 on a Preceptorship, to join our Mental Health Neighbourhood Teams in Leicestershire. You would join the Lead Psychologist and be part of a Psychology team providing you with excellent support and many opportunities for career development.
This post attracts a Welcome Bonus. This comprises of an initial payment of £1800 pro rata to hours worked (payable with your first salary); a further payment of £1800 pro rata to hours worked after 12 months service and a final payment of £1400 pro rata to hours worked after 18 months service. Qualifying criteria and Scheme Rules do apply, including a minimum tenure in post of 24 months to avoid any repayment. Full details are available upon request.
A Preceptorship is a structured period of transition for the Newly Qualified Practitioner, during which time they are supported by an experienced practitioner to develop their confidence and refine their skills (NHS Employers, 2017). For a recently qualified Psychologist a period of time at Band 7 is an opportunity to consolidate and further develop core practitioner skills. When the relevant developmental objectives are reached the Psychologist will be re-graded to Band 8a starting pay scale salary.

Responsibilities:

In our multidisciplinary Neighbourhood Teams you will work alongside Lead Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners to help our population through direct and indirect interventions, delivering individual and group interventions, supervising, and making a psychological contribution to the interventions of other professionals in the team.
You will have opportunity to apply and/or hone the breadth of psychology skills and do so with the support and supervision of a group of experienced psychologists that meet regularly for clinical supervision, learning, clinical and service development discussion, and peer support. There will be opportunities to develop yourself through internal and external training programmes (we will train you in EMDR), and to shape our mental health services.
We have strong links to the University of Leicester and you can be involved in teaching, trainee placements, and input to the development of the curriculum. The network of psychologists across LPT range of services will meet regularly to exchange ideas and learning through a forum meeting.
We are committed to LPT being a great place to work and should you choose to join us there are several schemes to support and enhance your well-being and satisfaction. We also look to accommodate you whether you seek full-time, part-time and/or flexible working arrangements
