Sikorsky Australia has been awarded the Through Life Support contract for the Royal Australian Navy’s MH-60R (Romeo) maritime fleet The MH-60R represents the next generation tactical maritime helicopter for the Royal Australian Navy.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Our Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Structures technicians will be responsible for structural and non-structural repairs of Romeo Seahawk aircraft and equipment. The Structures trade is specifically responsible for the removal and installation of specialised fastening systems, removal and installation of structural components, fabrication of aircraft sheet metal parts, repair of composite panels including rotor blades using different lay-up techniques and identification and removal of corrosion on the aircraft and components.
While undergoing training in the various aspects of your trade, you may be required to move between Sikorsky and our partner’s facilities as well as travel to attend theory-based training, ensuring you gain the required expertise to successfully complete the unit standards required for your apprenticeship.

To be successful in this role the skills and abilities required include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Passion for helicopters and aviation
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • An ability to meet and maintain a Australian Security Clearance
  • Willing to travel to complete theory modules of your trainin
