Description:
Work under the direction of the Plain Film Lead, Senior Radiographers and AHP Practice Educator for Radiology and liaise with Radiologists, Radiographers and other Assistants to ensure patient needs and welfare are attended to. Work during out of hours shifts including weekends and bank holidays. Assist with the collection and distribution of imaging request cards and notes of patients awaiting imaging examinations. Escort these patients to the appropriate waiting area.
Act as the patients advocate ensuring that their best interests are met and maintain central focus on care of the patient. Welcome visitors and patients to the clinical area providing assistance, support and information where required. Communicate with and provide support for patients relatives, carers and visitors. Explain procedures to patients so they are able to understand and co-operate throughout the examination.
Ensure that patients are helped to retain dignity and individuality, and act as chaperone when requested. Take all reasonable steps to ensure the safe keeping of patients property in accordance with Trust policy.
