REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • High school education or equivalent; At least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above
  • Maths & English Level 2
  • Passion for Food & Hospitality and a genuine interest in the industry and a desire to pursue a career in this field
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank/public holidays as required

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

As an Apprentice Commis Chef, you will develop the skills needed to play a vital role in our kitchen, from mastering food preparation techniques to maintaining a clean and organised workspace, and ensuring the smooth execution of dishes. This presents an exceptional opportunity for a passionate culinary enthusiast to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic kitchen environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Develop the skills to assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff
  • Learn and execute basic cooking techniques and procedures
  • Learn to ensure that all food items are prepared and presented according to the chef’s specifications
  • Learn to contribute to special events, catering, and menu planning as needed
  • Learn to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen station
  • Learn to adapt to changes in menu, kitchen procedures, and daily operations
  • Develop relationships with the senior kitchen team members to ensure a well-organised and efficient workflow
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring the pastry kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations
