Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
The Apprentice Engineer is expected to support the Engineering Line Manager and is responsible for handling projects within own level of authority. You will be responsible for the following:
- Assisting the Engineering team with preparation of reports, calculations, design and preparation of drawings
- Assisting the Engineering team to provide technical advice to clients
- Assisting the Engineering team to obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval
- Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
- Liaising with other professionals such as architects
- Assisting the Engineering team to maintain client relationships by providing excellent customer service and managing expectations
- Assisting the Engineering team with inspection and surveys of client properties and sites.
- Assisting the Engineering team to ensure that all projects comply with legal requirements including CDM2015, Part wall, Listed buildings.
- Inspection and surveys of client properties and sites.
- Assessment of sustainability and environmental impact of projects
- At all times to comply with the requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations
You will study for the Level 6 Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at Nottingham Trent University duration of your Degree Apprenticeship is based on a typical 30-hour working week, with 6 hours per week being used for off-the-job training. This will be delivered via one day per week on campus at Nottingham Trent University. You will complete the course in 5 years.
