Description:

Working in a vital, vibrant and varied industry, offering plenty of opportunity to develop administration skills. Based in the head office in Crediton, you will support the office manager, contract managers and site managers.
You will be part of a busy office supporting the office manager in organising the office and ensuring it runs smoothly. Assisting the managers with various different administrative tasks e.g. Estimating, Contracts, Health, Safety and Environment. Supporting the site managers on site.

Duties will also include:

  • Answering the phone, transferring calls, taking messages and dealing with enquiries.
  • Ensuring supplies are kept up to date:
  • Work wear, stationery, safety gear, first aid, refreshments.
  • Updating social media and website
  • Producing Marketing information
  • Sending out enquiries to suppliers and sub-contractors. Sending out orders to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Photocopying/scanning.
  • Ensuring public areas appear professional and tidy.
  • Opening and distributing post. Checking for emails to mail address and forwarding to relevant person.
  • Organising filing systems - paper and electronic.
  • Coordinating site manager’s forms.
  • Assisting with Health, Safety & Environmental forms.
  • Assisting financial Manager

Hours: 40.00 per week
About the employer:
We are a professional Chartered Building Company, operating across Devon. Having developed specialist skills and expertise in building refurbishment, our particular focus is on buildings in the education, health, commercial, listed and public sector.
Requirements and Prospects:
Good standard of English, Maths and IT; Word, Excel, Outlook proficiency. PowerPoint would be an advantage.
Positive attitude, good with people, good organisational skills, flexibility, willing to learn and hard working.
Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship we would like to upskill the candidate through the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship if they choose.
Training Provided:
One day a week (during term time) to be spent at college working towards the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship.
Additional Information:
GCSE Level 4/C in English & Maths (or equivalent)
