Apprentice: Software Tester

As a Software Tester Apprentice, you will undergo comprehensive training to become proficient in applying static and black box test techniques. You will work closely with experienced professionals within the IT Team gaining and expanding your knowledge in technological developments in the field of Software Testing. Additionally you will be learning to use tools to automate, manage or support any test activity.

Accountabilities

• Participate in creating and developing the overall test strategy for our products
• Create and maintain test plans
• Carrying out manual testing on software projects and systems
• Communicating with all levels of staff within the team verbally and in writing via high quality tickets and documentation on Jira & Confluence
• Working with developers to resolve defects
• Retesting of defects once resolved
• Investigate defects reported by users so they are documented correctly
• Working with Product Owner to solidify acceptance criteria for new features and functionalities

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

· Some knowledge of software development lifecycle
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Excellent attention to detail
· Excellent time management
· Familiar with issue task tracking and project management tools, especially Jira
· Self-motivated & organised, with the ability to estimate work complexity and time

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Maths GSCE (Grade 4)
• English GSCE (Grade 4)
• Technical Aptitude
• Detail oriented
• Strong communication skills
• Adaptability
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take direction

Job Type: Apprenticeship
Pay: £16,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
