KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates must be over 18 and above
  • Have minimum of grade C (4) in Maths and English at GCSE
  • Proven Customer Service experience
  • The ability to plan, prioritise and manage own work to deliver agreed objectives and meet SLAs
  • Input data accurately and efficiently, recognising and rectifying where quality standards have been missed
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience
  • The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels
  • Attention to detail

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ecclesiastical Insurance, who are proudly part of Benefact Group are looking for four Apprentice Underwriting Assistants to join our Gloucester office.
As Apprentice Underwriting Assistant you will contribute to defined service delivery by acting as part of a processing and administration team whilst developing the skills to become a fully-fledged Underwriter.
The successful candidate will have a permanent role in the business and will study towards their CERT CII qualification through our Apprenticeship training provider. Alongside this study, they will deliver structured learning and development in key knowledge, skills, and behaviours via dedicated trainers, mentors and coaches.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, prioritise and manage own work to deliver agreed objectives in line with SLAs
  • Input data accurately and efficiently, recognising and rectifying where quality standards have been missed
  • Act as a triage service for new business ensuring the case is referred to the correct team member
  • Process/underwrite midterm adjustments and renewals for existing business
  • Build effective internal relationships to deliver exceptional customer service and support Ecclesiastical’s right first-time approach
  • Act on audit results and agreed actions plans to improve own performance and enhance the effectiveness of the team and track output
  • Understand and operate within regulatory framework and identify and escalate any risks to the business in line with company policy
  • Produce as requested timetabled and ad-hoc MI for the team and wider business
  • Where relevant receive referrals from broker and contact brokers and/or business partners by telephone to expedite issues
