This role is only open to applicants that currently work within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS).
As we enter a new phase for apprenticeships in the NHS, we are looking for an engaging and experienced manager and leader who will develop and deliver apprenticeship programmes for both existing staff and for cohorts of learners recruited from the local community.
The purpose of this role is to enable the growth of skills through apprenticeships. You will:
Lead on the delivery and development of the level 3 Business Administrator, Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor and Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeships
Lead on the scoping and development of new non-clinical apprenticeships as need identifies
Support and supervise non-clinical apprenticeship assessors
Carry out onboarding of new apprentices, including career guidance and to assess eligibility, prior learning, and additional learning needs
Manage own training and assessment caseload of Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor and Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager Apprentices
Internal Quality Assurance of non-clinical apprenticeship assessment
Build relationships with managers of apprentices across work-based and educational settings.
We are a multi-disciplinary team, working with clinical and non-clinical professionals. The overall aim of the apprenticeship programme is to develop well-trained leaders and staff working in healthcare who have transferable skills and have access to career progression opportunities.
The post-holder will be passionate about the value and benefit of apprenticeships and widening participation. The ideal candidate will have experience of leadership development and be skilled in delivering high quality management and leadership coaching and training.
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.
We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.
The trust employs more than 9,000 staff and has a turnover of over £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors. The Council of Governors represent the interests of their constituencies and influence the future plans of the Foundation Trust.
