The R&D Tax Associate is responsible for assisting clients in identifying, documenting, and claiming tax credits and incentives related to their research and development activities. This role involves a combination of technical understanding, client interaction, and detailed documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA) are a plus.
- Previous experience in tax, accounting, or a related field, preferably with a focus on R&D tax credits but not required.
- Ability to analyze complex technical and financial information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and report preparation.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to understand their activities and determine eligibility for R&D tax credits.
- Gather detailed information on projects and expenditures.
- Analyze client projects and expenditures to identify qualifying activities R&D.
- Review technical documentation, project plans, and financial records to assess eligibility.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation supporting the R&D tax credit claims.
- Draft detailed reports and claims for submission to tax authorities.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of claims.
- Assist in the development of best practices and procedures for claiming R&D tax credits.
