    The Defence Service Homes (DSH) Insurance Scheme is a national scheme providing home building insurance to eligible veterans, war widows and Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. The team consists of five core business areas that include Products, Pricing and Underwriting, Sales and Policy, Claims, Marketing and Communications and Finance and Accounts.
    As a Senior Insurance Advisor, you will use your knowledge of insurance products together with your communication and interpersonal skills to help deliver ongoing training to new starters as well as ongoing training and development to current staff.
    In the role, you will be required to manage and monitor resource planning, including monitoring the phone service levels, resource allocation, and administrative functions. You will also focus on managing complex complaints and provide technical advice to the team. You will be required to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to work on process efficiencies and service delivery models.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Manager - Sales & Policy with workload allocation and administration requirements of the Sales & Policy Services Team.
  • Monitor the telephony system via telephony platforms and assist team meet service level.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage complex policyholder escalation and complaints.
  • Provide support in meeting all retention and sales performance targets.
  • Provide advice to team members on complex policy matters.
  • Deliver training, provide feedback and implementing the quality review framework to all members of the team.
  • Represent DSH Insurance at Departmental and client activities, including undertaking presentations to increase DSH Insurance brand awareness and provide information on DSH Insurance products.
  • Provide management with performance reporting for sales and policy functions.
  • Examine work practices on a continuing basis to ensure tasks/procedures are being carried out in an effective, efficient and timely manner.
  • Assist with national projects as required.
