As an APS6 Senior Analyst, Intelligence at AUSTRAC, you’ll play a vital role in Australia’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) regulator. We’re seeking talented analysts who specialise in applying analytical tradecraft and research acumen to generate high-impact assessments and briefings on matter of strategic and operational significance to Australia’s financial crime environment. You’ll be working closely with key partners in law enforcement and the National Intelligence Community Agencies, shaping actionable intelligence strategies, and engaging in intelligence diplomacy with foreign counterparts. Responsibilities:

KEY DUTIES

The Senior Analyst, Intelligence roles, operating with limited supervision, encompass a range of key responsibilities, including:

  • Collect, extract, collate and analyse data to support operational and strategic outcomes.
  • Lead the creation, production and coordination of high-quality intelligence assessments for a range of stakeholders.
  • Innovate and enhance analysis methods and work processes.
  • Represent AUSTRAC at inter-agency meetings and national and international forums.
  • Play an active role in shaping the strategic direction of the Intelligence Division.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with colleagues, partner agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach team members.
  • Provide input to multi-agency task forces and project work.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE YOU:

  • Must be an Australian citizen at the time you apply.
  • Will need to undertake AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks.
  • Will need to obtain and maintain an ongoing, minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, with some roles requiring the ability to obtain and maintain an ongoing Positive Vetting security clearance.
