Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Social Media Advisor in the Communication and Media Section works closely with team members to create high-quality and engaging social media content. The role is responsible for providing social media advice and support across the agency, including risk management and best-practice recommendations.
The Social Media Advisor will play a critical role in effectively communicating the work of the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission to stakeholders and the broader community. They will evaluate the effectiveness of social media campaigns to gauge their success.
The position works closely with the Assistant Director External Communication, the Director Communication and Media and the ACIC Design Studio, to deliver proactive, planned and compelling social media content.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the agency’s social media presence, including development and implementation of the social media strategy, moderation and analytics.
- Develop guidance and governance materials to improve social media capability, production and workflows.
- Oversee the development and design of high quality and engaging social media content for varying online audiences, including evaluation and reporting.
- Assist the broader team in maintaining and updating website and intranet content, while utilising analytics for reporting.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and project teams to help them meet their objectives. This will include contributing to communication and media strategies.
- Curate, amplify and engage with content across partner channels.
- Liaise effectively with the ACIC executive, Chief of Staff and ministers’ offices as required, including issues management and identification of opportunities.

- Have experience in developing and executing strategies as well as managing social media projects
- Strong analytical and writing abilities are vital, in addition to initiative, interpersonal and negotiation skills
