ABOUT THE ROLE

Working in a small team, the Test Lead supports the Quality Assurance Team Leader in the planning, design, execution and reporting associated with system testing activities for the Agency’s business systems. Testing responsibilities vary across projects and involve the application of strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure quality outcomes for the ACIC’s solution development projects and activities.
The Test Lead will be responsible to lead Project/BAU testing activities and leading a small testing team.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct test planning, test design, test execution and test reporting activities across multiple projects.
• Lead the quality assurance review of requirements and specifications, conducting analysis and test planning to ensure appropriate test coverage.
• Provide credible and consistent test estimates for projects and activities.
• Review peer work products, including Test Cases, Test Plans, Test Completion Reports and other documentation.
• Provide guidance to team members across a range of technologies and systems and support team members with the full range of the team’s duties.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with other ICT teams and stakeholders.
• Document all ICT related activities in accordance with the ACIC’s standards and practices.
• Assist the Quality Assurance Team Leader in maintaining and implementing fit for purpose test processes and toolsets across the Agency.
• Work with the Quality Assurance Team Lead in managing and aligning the team’s work plans to the ACIC’s business priorities.
• Assist the Quality Assurance Team Leader in conducting resource planning activities to ensure testing resources are available to support the delivery of the ACIC’s projects and planned activities.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:

• Demonstrated experience leading testing activities across a range of platforms and technologies including user interfaces (e.g. web applications, desktop applications and mainframe applications), web services and SQL databases.
• Demonstrated experience in requirements analysis, test planning and reporting, design and execution of both manual and automated tests. Experience with Enterprise Tester (Catch Software) and Tosca Test Suite (Tricentis) would be an advantage.
• An understanding of different system development and project delivery methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to support a team of test analysts and the ability to develop and manage effective stakeholder relationships
