Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Aquatic Weed Harvester Operator is responsible for harvesting aquatic weeds during TKPOA harvesting operations that occur during the summer season in accordance with the Waste Discharge Requirements and TKPOA’s Integrated Management Plan.
Compensation: $24-25/hr

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Small craft boating experience
  • Mechanical experience on hydraulic and diesel engines
  • Map / GPS / Radio training
  • Ability to identify Lake Tahoe’s Aquatic Plants

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid Drivers License and State Mandated Vehicle Insurance
  • Must be able to work for entire specified season without taking any significant time off.

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and maintain all required equipment of assigned Harvester
  • Harvest aquatic weeds in assigned areas
  • Control and collect harvested weed fragments
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance of assigned machine
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Complete duties and support the TKPOA AIS Management Program as required
  • All employees are required to follow all boating regulations in accordance with USCG Boating Safety Guide and TKPOA Watercraft Policy
