Job Description:
Bright Learners Private School, an esteemed American school in Dubai, is a seeking passionate and dedicated leader to join our team immediately as an Arabic & Islamic Coordinator. As a valued member of our educational community, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our young leaners.
The Arabic & Islamic Coordinator is part of the Middle Leadership team and is responsible for managing the Arabic Curriculum and Islamic Curriculum (MOE subjects), demonstrating outstanding teaching (partial teaching load), developing and monitoring the teachers within the department, monitoring teaching & learning and student progress and attainment. A key component of the role will be to ensure the consistency of high-quality instruction across phases with a focus on raising attainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Arabic & Islamic department improvement plan, working in conjunction with the school’s strategic plan to move the school forward
  • Carry out data analysis and track student progress
  • Manage and develop department of teachers in accordance with school’s continual professional development strategy
  • Appraise department staff using school’s Framework for Learning and Teaching and Appraisal criteria
  • Demonstrate outstanding knowledge of KHDA Framework and demonstrate excellent student-centered teaching skills which lead to strong results and outcomes - Please note some hours will be dedicated to teaching
  • Demonstrate excellent and innovative pedagogical practice, including the use of educational technology
  • Implement workplace policies and practices
  • Coach and mentor staff, providing advice and feedback
  • Assess and monitor student progress, implementing impact plans where necessary
  • Report on the progress of both students departmental teachers
  • Manage the department budget and resources
  • Prepare for NEASC visits in accordance with criteria and follow through with action plan
  • Coordinate teacher allocation and rooms
  • Contribute to learner discipline
  • Incorporate Gifted and Talented into the Department
  • Conduct an extra-curricular activity
