Description:
YOUR IMPACT:
Jacobs Defence and Security provide design and engineering services for our nuclear and defence clients across the UK and abroad. Our team is experiencing exciting growth and long-term prospects within our established practice, and we are looking for a Architectural Technician with transferable skills who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges. We offer hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office. Occasional site visits may be necessary.
About the opportunity:
We are looking to recruit and develop career minded people to bolster our well-established and growing multi-discipline engineering delivery capability to meet opportunities in the nuclear and defence industries. Our projects include developing solutions through all RIBA stages in highly regulated environments, in support of air, land and sea defence establishments, the UK nuclear submarine fleet, and both existing and new build nuclear power stations.
You will preferably have experience of working in the nuclear and/or defence industries, but also those with relevant industrial design experience looking to work in a technically challenging environment
- Delivery of architectural design, assessment studies and technical documentation through all RIBA stages
- Technical and professional guidance, support, and development of the necessary design work
- Communication and co-ordination with other design team members
- Assisting in the delivery of complex design projects

Here’s what you’ll need:
- Broad experience in industrial and/or highly regulated design sectors
- Good all-round technical design expertise to British and international regulations and standards
- Experience in the preparation and delivery of drawing packages and key project deliverables for complex building projects
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
- Good level of proficiency in BIM Level 2 and Autodesk Revit
- Preferably CIAT registered
