Description:
AREA HOUSING MANAGER
Location: Greater London
Salary: £50,858 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Closing Date: {Expiry Date}
Are you a housing management professional with demonstrable experience and a passion for working with customers and communities?
As one of four London based Area Housing Managers your remit will include the management of both general needs and supported housing (managed by others) properties. You’ll be leading a small team of housing officers who deliver generic housing management services tailored to the needs of our customers. C&C, part of Aster Group, predominantly owns and manages sheltered housing for over 55s, but we also have a small but complex portfolio of general needs and supported housing properties that you will be responsible for managing.
You’ll be leading the team to deliver a safety first, customer focussed housing management service.
In the role you will find yourself –
- Leading the team on the delivery of all day-to-day operational housing, estate and tenancy management services
- Supporting the team to manage complex and challenging casework through to resolution
- Leading a risk-based approach to health and safety and neighbourhood inspections
- Working closely with service providers to ensure housing and support services are delivered in line with the management agreements in place
- Working closely with colleagues in customer accounts, ASB, lettings, and repairs to ensure effective delivery of services and a good experience for customers
You will come to the role with extensive experience of housing management, preferably in a leadership role.
You will likely have a CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing, or will be willing to undertake this.
You’ll understand that your communication skills are one of your strengths and you will adapt your style to your audience.
As a leader you will actively coach in the moment, inspiring and motivating your colleagues.
You will have experience of working with diverse customer groups and will have a strong understanding of their varying needs and the challenges that are faced.
You will be naturally empathetic and will come to the role with experience of working in challenging and emotive situations.
You will ideally have experience of managing supported housing and be adept at working with service providers under management agreement arrangements.
This role is a hybrid role. Colleagues who aren’t site based can choose to work flexibly from home, we have an office base at Grace House in Westminster and there is access to hot desking via our ‘Near U’ membership.
We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:
- Flexible working – whilst some roles need to be carried out in a specific place at a specific time, where possible we encourage our colleagues to work to their own schedule at a location that suits them, their team and our business’ needs
- A focus on colleague wellbeing – workshops, an employee assistance programme offering counselling and support, mental health training and a health cash plan
- We invest in colleagues’ careers and development through our leader and colleague development frameworks
- Defined Contribution Pension and attached life assurance
- Volunteering hours available to all colleagues to enable them to give back
- Savings at cinemas, gyms, holidays, days out, various shops and eateries and lots more
- Enhanced leave
- We celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond with a range of personalised recognition initiatives
To apply, please use information provided in the advert and role profile to let us know why you’d be good for the job. Please submit a copy of your up-to-date CV along with a supporting statement.
Interviews are planned for Friday 15 November; these will be in person at our regional London office at Grace House in Westminster.
For an informal chat about the role please feel free to contact the recruiting manager, Holly Sheppard (Assistant Director of Operations) at holly.sheppard@ccht.org.uk
We create an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and believe that creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work is the right thing to do.
