Job Description
We are offering a unique opportunity for you to take part in building up Data Governance and Information Architecture capabilities within H&M to enable fit for purpose data for all needs of the enterprise. In this role you have the formal staff responsibility of our data governance specialists and information architects. You get to coach these passionate individuals in their roles and ensure they maintain a holistic perspective and focus on delivering value from improved use of data. You make sure that the members of the team are motivated and collaborate well within the team and across teams at H&M Group. As a team you define what good looks like and lead continuous improvement of our capabilities within Data Governance, Data Management and Information Architecture. Together you drive the implementation of federated data governance practices at enterprise level, enabling the organization to drive business value with data driven ways of working.
You are one of three leaders in the unit for Data Governance & Community at AI, Analytics and Data. Together we lead the road to data excellence, through building technical capabilities for data management, providing visibility into data quality and adherence to data policies, and enabling our organization with data literacy, communities of practice and practical trainings in data management. We work closely with many stakeholders across the H&M Group, in both tech organization and business.

We believe that you possess the following skills and experiences:

  • Experience of People Management
  • Experience in driving Data Governance in large global enterprise.
  • Experience in Information Architecture and a good understanding for all levels of enterprise architecture.
  • Experience from writing guidelines and guardrails.
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Ability to bridge between tech and business organisations
  • Ability to navigate corporate politics
  • Excellent verbal communication and documentation capacity in English, Swedish is a bonus

Responsibilities:

The role of an Area Lead for Data Governance & Information Architect within the H&M Group comes with a lot of responsibility – and lots of fun, here is a list of what you can expect:

  • Act as a manager for the Data Governance specialists and Information Architects.
  • Act as subject matter expert for data governance and information architecture topics.
  • Drive the strategic development of data governance and information architecture at H&M.
  • Drive the definition and implementation of Data Management and Data Governance frameworks and standards at H&M
  • Drive the implementation of data governance roles and responsibilities to ensure clear accountability for the most critical data assets.
  • Educate the teams in your area and surrounding organization in data management, data governance and information architecture.
  • Coach the teams in your area to maintain holistic thinking and focus on continuous improvements.
  • Drive definition of principles, guardrails and guidelines together with the product teams to secure that solutions are aligned with the architectural principles of Data Mesh.
  • Participate in the assessment and choice of data management tooling.
  • Serve as a link between business and tech to ensure that the management of data is in line with current and future business requirements of H&M.

Qualifications
We believe that you have extensive experience in data governance and information architecture. You have a holistic view and an understanding of the different elements of data management, and how they are all needed to achieve fit for purpose data. You have the ability to see the needs of the individuals in your team and help them become the best versions of themselves. You have vast experience in stakeholder management and see that as a natural part of your daily work. You possess excellent communication skills and have a pedagogic vain that enables you to educate the organization in data literacy. You are a true team player, self-sufficient enough to take initiative while enabling collaboration and empowering teams.

Additional Information
This is a fulltime position with placement in Stockholm. You will report to the Unit Lead of Data Governance & Community Unit at Business Tech and “AI, Analytics and Data” Tech Center. In this position you will have the possibility to form the data driven ways of working in a company with an amazing company culture.
