Responsibilities:

WHY THIS ROLE?

Lead the Area strategy, business development, offering and project management within the Area’s Major Project Business incorporating New Building Solutions and Modernization Businesses. Develop and implement the Major Project Business strategy and drive the development of Front Line specific action plans to achieve short- and long-term business goals. Execute business development initiatives and improve customer-centricity, competitive position, market share and profitability in Front Lines within the Area. Work closely with the Area Delivery Operations and Global MP team to ensure great customer/user experiences with profitable growth.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Safety and Quality

  • Proactively drive outstanding performance in Safety and Quality in the Major Project Business, including New Building Solutions and Modernization Businesses.

Customers

  • Drive and promote customer-centric culture with outside-in thinking in the business by intimate understanding of the customer and market needs.
  • Ensure early involvement with the customer in selling process and consultative selling approach with key stakeholders including, Developers, Architects and Consultants
  • Drive solution selling across the Area
  • Promote utilization of voice of customer throughout the business

Business performance

  • Holistic understanding, accountability and development of whole Major Project Business competitiveness, growth and profitability in full chain.
  • Evaluate the results of Major Project Business activities/contracts and identify recurring problems.
  • Establish Area level management practices driving key initiatives and programs for the Major Project Business. This includes share of market, OR growth, CMII, pricing and pre-to-post performance.
  • Prepare recommendations and feedback about significant changes that need to be made to Offering portfolio and KONE Way operating model elements (i.e., processes, roles, organization, IT tools, data, governance, business performance management) to improve efficient performance.
  • Collaborate with key Front Line leaders including Managing Director, MP head, NBS and Modernization directors as well as other functions such as operations to develop and achieve targets and close gaps across the Area.
  • Set Area level targets and plans aligned with global and Area ambitions.
  • Drive short and long-term competitiveness based on global KONE strategy.
  • Full-chain accountability of Major Projects Business competitiveness, growth and profitability.

Business Development

  • Drive the Major Project Business sales and offering development and go-to-market actions in collaboration with other business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across the business for best practice sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with business operating model and effective deployment of KONE Way initiatives.
  • Leadership / People management with team guidance and coaching.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to develop and implement a strategy for Major Project Business that is aligned with the organization’s overall vision and its current and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead, evaluate, and develop the Major Project Business team and its professionals at Area and FL level.
  • Identify competence gaps and training needs to fulfil the business plan.
  • Identify and develop key resources required to support early engagement, bid and execution support including Customer Solution Managers and Infrastructure specialists

Project Management – Major Projects

Guide and Support the Major Project PMO leader to:

  • own the Area Project Management Governance model with ongoing development and deployment
  • Assess and develop project management competence. Develop and coach Project Management people to effectively lead major projects with a focus on customer communication, quality, profit improvement and on-time delivery.
  • Support FLs to identify and manage Project Management resources

Leadership / People management

  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to develop and implement a strategy for Major Project Business that is aligned with the organization’s overall vision and its current and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead, evaluate, and develop the Major Project Business team and its professionals at Area and FL level.
  • Identify competence gaps and training needs in order to fulfil the business plan.
