Description:

CHILDREN’S HOME AREA MANAGER (RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL)

Salary: Up to £59,290 (pro rata)
Location: Hexham
Contract/Hours: Permanent, Part-time (30 hours per week, 4 days per week with flexibility)

ABOUT YOU:

We’re looking for someone resilient with strong leadership skills and a positive approach to change. Ideally, you will have:

  • L5 Leadership Qualification (or working towards)
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage staff
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective networks and relationships
  • Experience managing and delivering placement/commissioned services
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing operational services for children and families

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As the Area Manager, you’ll oversee our 5-bed residential children’s home and our short breaks home. You’ll lead and manage a team of up to 40 staff members, with two direct reports, a Registered Manager and a Service Co-ordinator. Your responsibilities include providing strong leadership, ensuring compliance with regulations, promoting safeguarding practices, and advocating for children and families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure service delivery meets regulations and performance standards
  • Act as the Responsible Individual for the home
  • Promote safeguarding practices and advocate for children and families
  • Lead and develop a strong team
  • Collaborate with business development, fundraising, and other colleagues
  • Build and strengthen relationships with commissioners
  • Contribute to tenders and grant applications
  • Implement necessary changes and oversee resource planning
