SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Substantial experience managing a general freight operation
- Proven ability to optimize, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated success in managing a large and diverse workforce, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Skilled in team development, performance management, and ensuring high levels of employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Sound knowledge of required road networks, locations, Cor, load restraint, statutory and regulatory requirements
- The ability to think strategically, analytically and outside of the box
- Suitable computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Suite
- Proven planning and project management skills
- Advanced financial and budgeting skills individual
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Oversight and Operational Management - Direct all operations in the Goldfields region, ensuring efficient utilization of staff and assets to meet client needs effectively.
- Develop strategic plans to optimize operational efficiency and resource allocation.
- Monitor customer expectations and satisfaction levels, promptly addressing issues to maintain high service standards.
- Handle customer enquiries and transport requests, providing timely quotations to meet client deadlines.
- Supervise daily operations including TMS reports, trip allocation, FMS management, and meticulous data entry.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with business partners, key customers, potential clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate effectively to ensure seamless service delivery and resolve operational challenges.
- Make informed decisions aligned with budgetary guidelines, driving profitability and operational excellence.
- Ensure solid financial results through effective cost management and revenue generation strategies.
- Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety leadership, fostering a culture of safety among the team.
- Maintain a safe working environment through rigorous compliance with safety protocols and regulations
