About the role:
The Area Manager (AM) is a key leadership position within the field team and is responsible for Customer, People and Culture, Safety, Operations, Sales and Profit outcomes.
Supporting, leading, and developing company Restaurant Managers, Assistant Managers,

and Nandocas (Team Members) to create positive work experiences and engage their customers and meet the Area and Business objective.

  • Win the Hearts and Minds of External Customers.
  • Drive Nandoca engagement through positive leadership and modelling of the Nando’s Values.
  • Coach and lead Restaurant Management to build people capability within their restaurants, utilising the Nando’s recruitment, selection and learning and development systems and tools while developing a diverse people pipeline for future growth within the area.
  • Work with restaurant teams to integrate safety processes in restaurant so that safety is always top of mind.
  • Lead the Area team to consistently deliver the Nando’s experience in every restaurant.
  • Effectively manage any restaurant issues including operations, human resources, marketing and/or supply chain purchasing within the area.
  • Lead the area team to achieve on or above target sales results through a customer first mindset.
  • Develop and execute plans to deliver sales growth as agreed with the Regional General Manager.
  • Coach and lead area the team to highlight any opportunities to win additional customers and or sales, engage and build strong relationships with local communities, and improve sales through operations excellence, LAM and restaurant involvement.
  • Ensure that restaurants achieve on or above target profit results through effective control of operating costs including Gross Profit, Cost of Labour and other operating costs.
  • Take a proactive approach to managing costs in the area by identifying and capitalising on opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Develop a culture of caring for assets to increase life span and provide efficient and great customer experience.

What you will bring:

  • A strong knowledge of multi-site operations and customer service.
  • Track record in aligning and developing engaged, motivated and empowered teams that are customer focused.
  • Sound financial capabilities within all areas of restaurant profitability.
  • Track record in achieving KPIs, particularly sales and profit with experience as a Restaurant Manager/Manager with On or Above Target results.
  • Self-motivated individual with initiative and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop talent.
  • Demonstrated impact beyond own area/responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and engage key relationships both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, problem solve, make sound decisions under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • Vehicle and current driver’s license.
