Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assigned regional area, maintains existing and develops new business relationships as well as reducing risk, responding to incidents, and limiting exposure to liability within the client’s operations. Provides leadership for the assigned area; ensures delivery of quality services; manages operations efficiently and effectively to achieve service and profitability objectives. Initiates the acquisition and integration of new business. Coaches, trains, and develops employees. Promotes client and employee retention initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Interviews, hires, and trains security staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff including security guards and desk clerks.
  • Prepares and conducts training for new hires and current staff including training on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
  • College preferred but not required.

  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.

  • Responding to an on-call basis to emergencies and incidents at all hours.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality customer service through regular contact with clients; evaluates service quality and initiates corrective action, as necessary.
  • Represents Triumph Protection Group management and core values of security, service, and excellence for assigned account. Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; acts to ensure that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Meets regularly with client representatives for status updates and addresses any actual or potential problems; negotiates client contracts; supports client start-ups; carries out security planning and assessments; reviews and updates post orders.
  • Reviews Area quality and efficiency of security operations and plans security for special and high-risk events and assists in emergency management and planning.
  • Provides input to company, Region, and Area initiatives; promptly assists in the resolution of legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues.
  • Ensures scheduling is handled effectively to meet client requirements while controlling labor costs; reviews site reports to ensure post orders and client directions have been followed.
  • Recruits, selects, orients, trains, and develops high caliber staff in collaboration with Area management; plans, assigns, and directs work; coaches’ employees to enhance skills; carries out disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Authorizes appropriate expenditures including equipment, supplies, and vehicles; ensures vehicles are properly maintained and administers driver training; ensures adequate inventory of uniforms, radios, etc.; and other required information.
  • Ensures all security agents are in possession of valid security guard license and all required permits in compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintains Security License and Armed License with the appropriate licensing division (depending on state) and attends required trainings.
  • Maintains Driver’s License required to drive company vehicles.
  • Performs additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives.
  • Required to performs security agent duties/responsibilities in the event of a shift vacancy, as needed, to ensure that a job site is not left uncovered and to help reduce overtime requested by 24 hours/week at a site/event covering a paid position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
