Coordinates and manages sales activities of Process Automation products within the assigned sales region. Responsible for the identification and generation of sales, leads, proposal coordination, customer contacts and sales opportunity closure for assigned region. Establish specific business plans with our distribution network to create focus on our products, plan joint activities and generate sales growth in your area of coverage. Responsible for developing key customer relationships. This position requires up to 60% travel.
Work effectively with company personnel, customers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listen to and objectively consider ideas and suggestions from others; keep commitments; solve problems creatively, effectively, and decisively.
Through market research, customer contacts and other means, identify the sales opportunities for assigned region and establish meaningful connections while exhibiting the value of GF products and services. This includes Distributors, Architects, Engineers, Trade contractors, General Contractors, Construction Managers, Owner’s Representatives, and Rep Firms.
Responsible for Key Account development (end users, OEMs, EPCs, engineering firms and contractors) in the assigned territory.
Responsible for the collaboration and management of current GF Specifications and working on new GF Specifications with engineering firms on new and existing products.
Responsible for identifying and communicating innovation ideas based on market observations and customer feedback. This includes both product and service opportunities.
Prepare monthly highlight reports and develop annual business plans with the distribution network and for overall region growth with Process Automation products.
Effectively manage CRM content.
Effectively utilize our project search engines to mine for upcoming projects and gather engineering, contractor and end user information. Utilizing this information to drive specifications and design assistance/product selection with the engineering firms and design build contractors. Work with these companies from the design stage, construction to completion of projects.
Develop proposals by identifying themes and “selling points” and preparing various components such as executive summaries and assist with negotiations.
Represent the Company at industry trade shows and exhibitions and participate in thought leadership exercises when appropriate.
Deliver customer presentations, trainings and demonstrations of products.
Monitor the market (i.e., trade shows, social media, publications, competitive bidding, project activity and requirements and customer/contractor/distributor interaction) and report actions and trends to the team.
Work closely with associates on the sales team. Coordinates efforts with other regions, Segment Account Managers, Product Managers, or other Company departments to support territory objectives.
Complete work accurately and on time, manage travel and sales time in an efficient manner, manage cost center, expenses and meet or exceed personal goals and/or critical performance factors.
Act committedly regarding the protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and neighbors. Exhibit the three GF Core Values in daily business activities.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Sales, Marketing, or related field.
Five years of industry sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Personal computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office.
Pass Company post-employment physical as well as controlled substance testing and background and security checks, as required.
In-depth knowledge of Company products and services offered, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Abilities:
Performs all operations according to prescribed safety principles.
Ability to work with and preserve confidential information.
Acts as Company representative at other company locations, or at other companies.
Follows the procedures as presented in the Employee Handbook, Etiquette Brochure, department procedures, captures contact information, and follows verbal, written or diagram instructions as provided by supervisors and managers.
Presents a professional appearance and a professional attitude with customers, distributors, vendors, and other company personnel.
Ability to drive with a valid driver’s license for valid Company reasons.
Presents professional communication skills: verbal, written, social.
