We are seeking an Area Site Manager to support our facilities located in Sarnia and Corunna, ON. The Area Site Manager will have broad responsibilities in supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Sarnia and Corunna teams and equipment. This position focused on interacting regularly and effectively with the local AP operation teams, the customers, contractors, AP support Engineers, and find opportunities to improve the efficiency of the plant.
The Corunna hydrogen production facility is a 1st Class Steam Plant. This plant is a natural gas-based steam methane reformer assisting refiners in producing cleaner transportation fuels and other petroleum products from heavier crude feedstocks. The Air Products facility is located on a part of the Shell refinery land and supplies hydrogen by pipeline to the nearby Suncor refinery, Imperial Oil refinery and the AP liquid H2 plant. We operate and maintain AP owned equipment on Shell land, leased by AP.
The Sarnia Liquid hydrogen plant is a 3rd Class plant. The liquid hydrogen product is shipped offsite via trucks across Canada and U.S.A.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Ability to build and maintain the working relationships with our customers and suppliers at the operating level.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and able to meet all deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skill with team player’s attitude.
  • Strong aptitude for embracing new technology and the ability to simultaneously leverage multiple systems and resources.
  • A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
  • A performance history of driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel across Canada and the U.S.A, if required

MINIMUM HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 1stClass Ticket with a minimum of 15+ years operations experience.
  • Strong manufacturing/production background and experience
  • SAP, Microsoft office knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety performance, reduction of recordable injuries, BSP compliance, distribution safety and process safety management.
  • Achieving environmental compliance targets.
  • Support of all aspects of the overall day-to-day operation of the site
  • Provide support to key distribution initiatives.
  • Work daily with Local Business Manager on customer requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationship with customers.
  • Development of site personnel.
  • Handle plant budget.
  • Develop and implement projects for safety, reliability, and productivity.
