JOB SUMMARY

This role is a job share (2.5 - 3 days per week), team manager with specific responsibilities for Professionally Qualified (PQ) Officers and Trainees into the Army Medical Services (AMS). This role will work alongside a small team of AMS Officers and Soldiers and Civilian staff.
Sitting under the Corps’ Col AMS, in HQ AMS at Camberley, this role is required to brief Colonel AMS, Head AMS and Master General AMS, as well as liaison across the Defence Medical Services (DMS) profession of Healthcare and Medical capability (HMOC).
Corps engagement and Recruiting are significant areas of interest across the Corps, and both policy and management of these areas is something that requires knowledge of the internal workings of the AMS, the DMS deanery and of National Governing Bodies and University programmes. This role is required to inform Pers Pol in the Cadet and Bursar space, as well as Army Recruit and Initial Training Command (ARITC) and Medical Entry Stds – acknowledging many Professional entrants may be above the standard entry age.
Engagement also requires an understanding of the application process, Army Officer Selection Boards (AOSB), and eventually Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) initial training. Awareness of the demands of the balance between academic/professional study and the joining process would be the ideal.
Training in IT and Army recruiting software and communications will be provided.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Professional Healthcare & Regulatory Engagement Officer is the lynchpin job assuring the future of the AMS, by recruiting and nurturing the best of the best Professionally Qualified medical, nursing and allied health professional individuals to work within the LAND operating arena.
An individual with DBS is essential as this role engages closely with bursars and cadets within sixth forms, universities and University Officer Training Corps.
Walking these potential AMS Officers of the future through the Recruiting and prolonged Phase 1 trg pathway requires a very particular skill set. Linking in to the Royal Colleges of Med, Dent, Nursing and Vets – and aligning with both Army Pers Pol / ARITC and DMS Pol (Unified Career Management (UCM) Med) for a seamless functionality will always be the challenge.
Organisational skill is required to ensure Boards are run in accordance with sS Pol and aligned to Career Management (both Army Personnel Centre (APC) and UCM), as well as Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for entry into training pathways which may be up to 7yrs in length, owned by the External providers and the Defence Medical Academy (DMA).

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
