We are looking for an Articling Clerk to join our Corporate Legal Team here in Halifax, NS. WHAT SKILLS WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL?
Preference will be given to candidates with strong academic performance, particularly in business law courses, an interest in the energy, regulatory, or environmental fields, and the following skills and experience:
- A results-oriented focus is essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and effectively manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills: ability to influence and communicate effectively across the company and externally at all levels;
- Dedication to teamwork and an eagerness to engage and collaborate;
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail;
- Proven ability to work in a complex, regulated corporate environment;
- Superior writing skills including the ability to compile information from research, case files or verbal direction, in order to draft documentation;
- Sound professional and business judgment;
- Confidence and a willingness to take on new challenges;
- Proficient with the use of information technology tools.
