Salary Range: $3,879 - $7,488/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary: 4,554/Monthly)
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.
Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Associate Registrar for Academic Services, the incumbent is a member of a team of analysts with specialized administrative responsibility for developing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting transfer course articulation rules, test credit rules, academic requirements, and degree planner templates in support of the system-wide California State University Graduation Initiative. The majority of work is analytical in nature with duties covering academic policy research and analysis leading to the effective development and maintenance of the Cal State LA e-advising infrastructure used by all degree, certificate, and credential seeking students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The incumbent serves primarily in a technical role requiring knowledge of transfer credit articulation, auditing for academic requirements completion, and constructing term-by-term degree planner templates. The incumbent’s responsibilities are focused on e-advising technical configuration and support across these specialty areas: analysis, determining methods, developing solutions, ensuring compliance, and systems planning. The goal supported by this position is to provide a comprehensive self-service support platform for students and academic advisors by bringing together the three pillars of successful degree completion: awarding transfer credit, completing academic requirements, and facilitating informed planning. The incumbent may occasionally be called upon to assist with other related operational activities during periods of peak demand.
Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in any major, and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study analysis, transfer credit evaluation, academic advising, or graduation evaluation. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Foundational knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and methods; general knowledge and skill with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions academic advising and transfer credit modules as well as degree planner tools are preferred.
Closing Date: Review of applications will begin on 10/1/2024 and will continue until the position is filled; however, the position may close when an adequate number of qualified applications are received. A COMPLETED ON-LINE CAL STATE LA EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION IS REQUIRED. RESUMES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN LIEU OF A COMPLETED APPLICATION.
