Description:

ARE YOU AN ADAPTABLE PROFESSIONAL WITH EXPERIENCE OF DELIVERING DISABILITY-LED ARTS PROGRAMMES FOR AND WITH PEOPLE OF DIVERSE CULTURES AND ABILITIES?

We are so excited that Wandsworth has been chosen by the Mayor of London to be London Borough of Culture 2025. We are planning an inspirational year of culture where every corner of Wandsworth comes alive in an explosion of creativity. You can expect large scale dance events, a mass choral spectacular and a disability arts festival, as well as sector development initiatives such as Culturally Mindful, aimed at diversifying the creative health workforce and social prescribing offer in the borough.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills (project management qualification is not required but experience is essential).
  • Understanding of the specific access needs and challenges of disabled, d/Deaf and neurodivergent people as well as those affected by long-term health conditions.
  • Experience of supporting arts projects led by disabled and ethnically diverse artists and community groups.
  • Strong communications skills and awareness of alternative communication techniques.
  • IT literacy, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams and accessibility technology.
  • Fundraising experience would be a bonus.

WE ARE PROUD TO BE A DISABILITY CONFIDENT EMPLOYER. IF YOU REQUIRE ANY REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS THROUGHOUT THE RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION PROCESS, PLEASE LET US KNOW.

We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Some posts may be exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to these posts will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
We offer a wide range of benefits designed to attract, develop, and reward our employees such as 40 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays), flexible working and a generous pension plan.
If you have any accessibility requirements, require any other reasonable adjustments, or require the role information in a different format, please contact us on recruitment@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk.
Applications will be anonymised.

Responsibilities:

As an LBoC Support Officer with a focus on Diversity, Access and Inclusion, you will work with the award-winning Arts & Culture Service to develop, deliver and monitor a range of ambitious, diverse and inclusive programmes as part of our London Borough of Culture year. Your support will be crucial to the Programme and Partnership Manager, who you will help to lead on diversity, access and inclusion.
Your workload will be very diverse as you will work on arts projects ranging from programme commissioning and grants support to advocacy work and the highly regarded, disability-led, Liberty Festival. You will be working with artists, community groups, culture professionals and an array of Council departments towards one common goal: to ensure that our London Borough of Culture year is as diverse, accessible and inclusive as possible.
