    ASD’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) is looking for Strategic Policy Officers & Managers to fill several positions within the Cyber Engagement and Strategy (CES) Division.
    CES Division is responsible for strategic planning and evaluation, policy coordination, and industry engagement for ASD’s ACSC. It is also responsible for public communications and Ministerial and Parliamentary communications on behalf of wider ASD.

Responsibilities:

Duties associated with these roles include providing timely advice to ASD senior leadership, developing practical plans and actions that align ASD’s ACSC effort with government direction, developing and maintaining evaluation processes, assessing the impact of activities and strategies, and providing support and guidance to meet ASD’s strategic partnerships.
If successful, as an ASD Strategic Policy Officer and Manager you will engage in some or all of the following tasks at your relevant classification and work level standard –

ASD6 and EL1

  • Lead and/or participate in organisational strategic planning, to support ASD’s ACSC to deliver on its medium and long-term objectives.
  • Analyse the operational environment, and work with subject matter experts, to identify and manage risks and opportunities impacting ASD’s strategic direction.
  • Provide policy, professional and/or technical advice on cyber-related legislative and policy development to ensure ASD’s ACSC equities are represented.
  • Prepare briefing materials, policy and planning documents, reports, ministerial correspondence and other relevant documents, under limited direction.
  • Gauge the impact of ACSC activities against strategic measures, to establish ASD’s strategic impact and support senior decision making.
  • Develop and maintain the ACSC evaluation framework, to produce data and reports supporting internal and external impact reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver key initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Engage proactively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to further ASD’s national security objectives.
  • Mentor and lead a team, including building capability through training, professional development and performance management processes.
  • Manage the allocation of resources and work flows to successfully deliver on work area outcomes and priorities.
  • Provide expert advice on complex policy proposals or changes specific to the ASD’s ACSC remit.
  • Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
