Description:

  • Total Salary Package: $137,231.12 - $164,720.40 incl. 4 % Service Allowance (plus 15.4% Super)

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The role will involve leading a team responsible for physical security, guidance on appropriate facility construction, technical security fit-outs, access-control, alarm resolution and security incident management. As an ASD EL2 Security Director you will provide a strategic level of specialist, professional and technical expertise and will be responsible for managing complex Operational Security issues across the organisation with a risk managed approach.

THE DUTIES OF AN ASD EL2 SECURITY DIRECTOR INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Accountable for leading a team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
  • Lead and manage the provision of protective security advice to stakeholders to ensure adherence to security policies, practices and procedures.
  • Develop, oversee and monitor the completion of assurance programs to ensure compliance with whole-of-Government security policies.
  • Understand the security risk context within the ASD environment to develop innovative solutions for emerging protective security matters.
  • Assess, evaluate and endorse protective security reports, submissions, briefings and discussion papers.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate information coherently and concisely to audiences.
  • Managing a physical security footprint across the ASD estate through the provision of guidance on appropriate facility construction, technical security fit-outs, access-control and alarm resolution.
  • Experience with incident reporting and management.
