POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Plant Manager directs and manages a plant’s operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities on a 24/7 basis. Plant Managers understand plant processes and have a background in QA/QC, problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate mechanical and electrical information effectively.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as plant operator with demonstrated ability to manage others.
  • •Two- or four-year degree or certification in process technology or equivalent experience • Basic understanding of electrical and electronic systems (PCS), lifting and erection, mathematical and statistical analysis require

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage plant operations and scheduling for safety, production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
  • Coordinate plant activities with Estimators/Project Managers to ensure that overall production requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Provide leadership, coaching and training to personnel, including developing others for future leadership positions
  • Manage materials inventory
  • Manage capital asset maintenance and component replacement.
  • Monitor and report on overall plant performance for safety, production, and quality standards
  • Manage variable costs, e.g., labor, fuel, equipment and repair expenses
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
  • Insist on shop floor organization and plant cleanliness (Good Housekeeping).
