Description:
SEMICONDUCTOR ASSEMBLER
Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has an exciting opportunity available with the Spectrolab Team for a Semiconductor Assembler in our Sylmar, CA facility.
Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.
Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs the processes necessary for the fabrication and production of Solar Cells, including Photolithography, Cap Etch/Window Clean, Thinning, Lift-Off, Evaporation, Sinter, Saw-Dice, Lot Code, electrical testing, microscope inspection and Silicon Diodes.
Performs the processes necessary for growth of semiconductors, including operation of MOCVD vacuum system, Metal Organic material handling and X-Ray Diffraction.
Knowledge of function specific specialized tools (e.g., sheet metal-cornice brakes, metal shears, pneumatic rivet squeezers, cold-hardening kits; electrical-crimpers, wire routing tools, multimeters)
Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).
Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option.
This operation works on a 9/80 schedule. A 9/80 work schedule comprises two-week periods in which employees work eight nine-hour days, one eight-hour day, and one day off.
Must be able to work any shift, overtime and holidays as required.
Candidate must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Minimum of 1 year of experience with Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
Ability to lift 35 lbs
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Proficient in the use of Excel
Experience using SAP
Typical Education / Experience:
Education /experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
