JOB SUMMARY:
Vale has a great opportunity available for an experienced Assembly Technician to be a part of our production team. Vale

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience in general assembly work or specialized training
- Experienced with a variety hand tool and power tools
- Manufacturing experience in an agricultural or aggregate + mining environment an asset
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other drawings
- Must have outstanding punctuality and attendance
- Ability to work according to production schedules and deadlines; willing to work shifts when required
- Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills as well as the flexibility to handle changing
demands and work effectively in a diverse environment
- Basic math and communication skills required
- Able to work independently or as part of a team in a busy environment/able to work under pressure
KNOWLEDGE AREAS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to accurately fit parts
- Overhead crane and forklift training an asset (but not required)
- Experience rigging and safe handling of components
- WHMIS training an asset
Responsibilities:
- Read documents, computer screens, blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout
and procedures
- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists
- Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
- Verify specifications by measuring completed component
- Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain
