ABOUT US

The Office of the Registrar (OOR) fosters a culture of student service excellence and is a key contributor to the overall student experience at Western, from the initial point of contact with prospects through to graduation and beyond.

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree, with education in Business, Administration, Human Resources, or Information Management preferre

Experience:

  • 2 years’ progressive experience in a post-secondary academic environment supporting registrarial services
  • 1 year experience scheduling appropriate resources, facilities and equipment to support student needs
  • 1 year customer service experienc

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to balance competing priorities and assignment of workloads
  • Ability to apply judgement in difficult situations
  • Demonstrated initiative to recommend and implement changes for ongoing improvements to services
  • Advanced ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to establish effective routines for excellent communication with all members of the team to maximize productivity
  • Demonstrated ability to apply change management principles
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Ability to understand customer needs and expectations and provide excellent customer service directly and indirectly to satisfy expectations
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize sizable amounts of detail/data
  • Basic understanding of financial theories and budgeting
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University’s events and activities with flexibility to work outside regular business hours, i.e. Convocation, Western exam periods, out of hours exams scheduled by external customers
  • Self-driven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality
  • Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements
  • Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with associates and colleagues including senior management
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access) and PeopleSof

Responsibilities:

The Assessment Coordinator will work with the Assessments team to plan, manage and facilitate central, online, accommodated, and external assessments, ensuring that all service standards are met for students in accordance with Western’s Senate requirements or the requirements of the institutions from which the student officially resides, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and the Ontario Human Rights Code. The Assessment Coordinator will actively participate in the development of policies and procedures related to Examination Services and will review existing policies and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and to enhance customer service. The Assessment Coordinator will provide training to the in-person and remote proctoring team to ensure the delivery of exemplary customer service to various stakeholders.
Qualifications

Education:
