Asset Engineer – Mechanical
Huntsman has an opportunity for an Asset Engineer – Mechanical to join our dedicated team at our Wilton Site, within the Polyurethanes division.
The purpose of the Asset Health Team is to drive long term reliability improvements, as well as respond to immediate issues by supporting the daily maintenance team.. Mechanical Engineers are essential in driving long-term projects that require strategic planning and problem-solving.
Huntsman is one of the world’s leading suppliers of materials and technology for Polyurethanes. Huntsman Polyurethanes, Wilton operates a COMAH regulated Nitrobenzene and Aniline facility. This Aniline is used predominately in the production of MDI by Huntsman in Europe.

Role Responsibilities:
As the Asset Engineer – Mechanical, you will:
- Provide technical support to the Maintenance team to solve more complex problems.
- Ensure compliance with site standards and legal requirements, staying up-to-date with current legislation.
- Conduct thorough assessments of all modifications, ensuring each change undergoes a detailed review in line with the site Management of Change procedure.
- Provide technical input to projects, with involvement from concept to completion for rotating equipment, piping vessels and minor civil work.
- Take a lead on developing the long term strategy for asset replacement, and remaining life assessments
Skills & Experience Required:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Extensive experience in maintenance and engineering.
- Approximately 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within a highly regulated industry.
- Previous experience in a chemical plant or other high-hazard environments such as oil and gas, nuclear, or similar industry is preferred.
- Fluent English is required
- Ability to assess complex problems and develop effective solutions based on data and logical reasoning.
- Capability to approach challenges with creativity, generate new ideas, and implement forward-thinking solutions to drive improvement and progress at charged area.
