QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering and eligibility to join the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Manitoba.
An equivalent combination of formalized training and papermill experience will be considered.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an engineering, pulp and paper mill, or industrial mechanical environment is essential.
Knowledge of QA/QC, government codes, standards, regulation and maintenance practices for pressure vessel and tanks.
Currently holds, willing to obtain CWB Welding Inspector level 1, 2 or 3
Pulp and paper Experience: API 653, API 570 and API 510. preferred
Must be progressive and team oriented with good leadership skills.
Good planning and organizational skills, and the ability to understand what constitutes good instruction.
Computer skills and/or the willingness to learn proficient use of the technology. Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) i.e. GuideTi.
Good communication skills, both written and oral, good mathematical and administrative skills and the willingness to manage paperwork.
Demonstrated ability to perform well and lead under pressure and changing priorities, manage multiple work priorities in controlled motion simultaneously.
Style and capability to command respect within both maintenance and operating organizations.
Comprehend and understand the basics of AutoCAD, drafting/drafts, drawings, blueprints, and equipment diagrams, with the ability to provide good sketch representation for work assigned.
Orientation and commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities:
Manage the QC Program for pressure vessels and pressure piping, include engineering drawings, material specifications, cost estimates and invoices for materials, inspections of pressure equipment to CSA and ASME codes, reporting and work instructions, where applicable
Manage and maintain the CKP Pressure Systems Manual
Ensure the QC program(s) and applicable codes and standards are adhered to
Assist in the management of Mill Asset Management Program supporting efficient plant operations and minimize downtime
Assist in building the strategic plan for CKP Asset Management Program
Other programs for assets preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, health and safety related asset programs (such as asbestos coordination)
