    Position: Asset Manager
    Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, the Asset Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of our commercial and mixed-use real estate portfolio. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Asset Management team to maximize the value and performance of the portfolio at an investment level.
    As a trusted advisor within the organization, the Asset Manager will analyze and provide input to assist decision-makers in successfully executing the organization’s key objectives. We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work and holds themselves accountable for delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly ownership reports, emphasizing accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze monthly performance/financials and variance reports, providing recommendations to ensure key benchmarks are met.
  • Review leases and ensure accurate information is received and maintained.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with third-party managers by attending weekly meetings with property managers and maintaining OneNote trackers.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on property operations, capital planning, and major repairs by conducting regular property inspections.
  • Assist and support the annual preparation and approval process of property operating budgets.
  • Assist with capital program scopes, timelines, budgets, and financial tracking, along with ROI analysis.
  • Prepare market studies, forecasts, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Collaborate with the acquisition/disposition team during the due diligence and onboarding phase.
  • Consolidate, interpret, and present property reporting of weekly AM Reports, cash flow forecasts, participation in annual budgeting, and Property tax documentation.
  • Conduct acquisition and disposition analysis.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of Property Manager/Administrator and/or Asset Management experience, and a desire to expand their knowledge and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, OneNote, and Outlook.
  • Experience with office and retail assets is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with real estate software such as Yardi, Argus, etc., is considered an asset.
  • An understanding of Common Area Expenses and Tenant Billbacks is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with financial concepts and perform financial analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
