Description:

The Asset Manager - Legacy Brands, has ownership to maintain and grow share of Legacy Brands (strategic post-exclusive (PEU) molecules) by managing select brands in a trade and transactional, agile, go-to-market approach, collaborating with the Regional and National Account Management teams, the Asset Management team, the Market Segment Management team and the Business Development team. This role is responsible for monitoring & reporting competitive information for defined molecules, creating pricing guardrails on quarterly basis, and collaborating with the Account Management team to enable nimble market readiness.
Working knowledge of row and specialty crops systems and geographies is a must. This individual is expected to be a strategic, commercial-oriented thinker who demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness in problem solving, is collaborative and team-oriented and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: BA/BS, MBA or equivalent
  • Experience: At least 10 years related experience
  • Agriculture industry experience is a plus, but not required
  • Sales and or product management experience.

Responsibilities:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set quarterly and annual targets (volume and profit) for Legacy Brands.
  • Lead monitoring of all import intel and consolidation of competitive pricing and terms from Account Management Team and market research tools.
  • Responsible for a quarterly summary report on the current Legacy Brands market conditions to be presented and distributed to Valent USA and Sumitomo management teams.
  • Consult with the Market Segment Managers to define pricing for Legacy Brands and align brand ladder pricing strategies.
  • Align with Asset Managers on the Legacy Brands pricing strategies in conjunction with comprehensive life cycle management strategies for PEU molecules and the annual budgeting process.
  • Set pricing guardrails (Price floor, target price) and terms for defined Legacy Brands and update every ninety days.
  • Define Legacy Brands pricing guardrail approval process and obtain CORE team approval quarterly.
  • Coordinate with the Account Management team comprehensive communication execution of Legacy Brands pricing actions.
  • Responsible for the forecasting of Legacy Brands with Demand Planner, Account Management team, and the Business Planning team as a part of the monthly integrated business planning (IBP) process.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to manage supply and minimize on-hand inventory with the goal of market readiness to meet competitive challenges.
  • Provide support and input to the Business Development and Account Management teams in the development and negotiation of supply contracts for defined brands.
