Description:
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated experience in asset management frameworks and systems including program supervision, coordination and data management
- Demonstrated experience liaising with and coordinating staff or contractors undertaking asset maintenance and construction activities.
- Knowledge of and experience in the application of construction codes, safe work practices and risk management in the construction and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial reporting requirements for capital projects as well as an understanding of risk management principles as they apply to maintenance and construction of infrastructure and assets.
- Understanding of the legislation applying to protected area management, contract management, Workplace Health and Safety, construction standards and environmental planning.
- A current Australian drivers licence.

ABOUT THE ROLE
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for an Asset Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a small friendly and high performing team supporting strategic programs for the Greater Sydney Branch. The role supports the development of asset management capability within National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) through the establishment and implementation of asset management principles. This includes the consistent use of systems, application of best practice principals and process for asset and project management services, the review and application of maintenance and construction standards, and the use of NPWS manuals. The role also supports procurement and contract management activities in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines.
Our ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of a range of computer programs. Previous experience utilising geospatial data within a geographic information system (GIS) will be highly regarded.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to provide support and guidance to geographically disbursed teams and programs with a high degree of autonomy and initiative.
- Experience in supporting asset management improvement in the application of a state-wide prioritisation framework, including keeping abreast of best practice asset and project management principles to maintain a transparent decision-making framework.
- Experience in supporting the management of a large and diverse asset portfolio including heritage assets and capital infrastructure in a sensitive environment
