Description:
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of accounts assistant experience and be ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPA part-qualified, or IATI qualified, with a desire for career progression.
They should have excellent attention to detail, strong financial analysis skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. The candidate should be proactive, flexible, and commercially aware, with strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. They must be capable of working independently and as part of a team, demonstrating effective time management.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Flogas Ireland has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant, to join on a permanent position within our finance team supporting the LPG business.
This role will play a key part in supporting our monthly financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory filings. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial processes, while assisting with cost analysis, budgeting, and audits. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to grow and develop within a dynamic and supportive team environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support in the preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, to ensure accuracy and consistency across entities.
- Manage statutory filings, including statutory accounts, revenue returns, and statistical returns, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the analysis of monthly operating costs and balance sheet items, identifying variances and trends for management review.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of financial forecasts and budgets, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external audit queries, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial processes and reporting.
- Post journals to the appropriate ledgers, ensuring correct allocation and accurate financial records.
- Assist in the enforcement and continuous improvement of internal controls, ensuring processes are effective and compliant.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the finance team and business objectives.
