Description:
Assistant Accountant
Kilkenny
Hybrid working available
Optimize are working with a market leader in its field of Transport and Logistics, based in the South- East. They pride themselves on excellent customer service and are now seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their growing team.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the Financial Controller and has the opportunity for further career advancement possibilities in this role.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement once training is complete and will report directly into the Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing invoices and completing supplier statement reconciliations
- Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Assist with payroll reports, Bi-monthly VAT returns and intercompany reconciliations, Production of weekly accounts and reports for management
- Assisting with Month end process
- Maintaining fixed assets register
- Looking after liability side of balance sheet including creditors, accruals
- Assisting in preparation of year end audits
- Contribute to the greater finance team in driving and improving processes
- Liaise with internal and various external partners and stakeholders
- Assist with rigorous enforcement and documenting internal control procedures, making sure all procedures are kept up to date
Candidate Requirements:
- Part Qualified ACCA (or equivalent) and actively pursuing qualification
- 2+ years experience in a similar accounts position with exposure to month end accounts specifically
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong excel & analysis skills
- Self-motivated and deadline driven with strong attention to detail
