Job Description
ASSISTANT ACCOUNTING MANAGER
The Finance Department of Fairmont Chateau Whistler is looking for a dynamic, organized and collaborative team player who is passionate about coaching and developing the general ledger accounting team.
Salary Range: $71,000 - $75,000, dependent on experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- 2+ years progressive work-related experience in accounting, and previous hotel experience at a supervisory/managerial level an asset
- Demonstrated experience with accounting systems and Opera PMS an asset
- Computer literate in Microsoft Windows and Office required
Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in full cycle general accounting process workflow including month end close and financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, Accounts Payable, General Cashiering, Banking/Treasury
- Supervise the daily general accounting operation
- Provide administrative support to Management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational business support
- Responsible for the company’s general ledger transactions and bookkeeping
- Preparation of monthly journal
- Assist the finance leadership to prepare variance analysis, monthly profit and loss statement preparation and report on the business to senior finance leadership
- Verify the accuracy of all Income Audit transactions, banking and ensure daily revenue and rebate summary is reconciled
- Assist in the integration of hotel and accounting technology systems
- Complete and verify account analysis for all Food and Beverage inventories and expense valuation
- Assist in safe keeping of all lease and contracts and any other legal records and documents, which may affect the financial status of the hotel
