The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District has an immediate opening for Assistant Air Pollution Control Engineer. The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District (SDAPCD) is located in the Clairemont Mesa/Kearny Mesa/Scripps Ranch area of San Diego (10124 Old Grove Road, San Diego, 92131). Assistant Air Pollution Control Engineer (Assistant APC Engineer) is the first working level class in the APC Engineer job class series. Assistant APC Engineers are responsible for performing professional air pollution control engineering work involving field and plan evaluations of design, installation, and operation of air pollution control equipment and industrial and commercial processes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree from a U.S. accredited college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or environmental engineering, or closely related field AND, one (1) year of experience performing progressively responsible professional level engineering work.
Notes: A Master of Science degree in chemical, mechanical or environmental engineering may substitute for the one year of experience. Additional years of experience as described above may substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis, OR, completion of appropriate post-graduate course work from an accredited college or university may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
NOTE: Applicants are required to attach a copy of their college or university official or unofficial complete transcripts, diplomas, letters of verification, or foreign studies equivalency certifications at the time of application, during Step 1 of the on-line application submittal process.
