MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

  • Teach specialized and general courses in the department of public relations using innovative methods and approaches.
  • Develop a research agenda to secure external and internal funding and publish in high-impact Scopus indexed journals.
  • Contribute to the department’s academic and extracurricular activities.Contribute to effective student advising and supervision of graduation projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Have a PhD in media, communication, media economics or a relevant field from a top recognized university.
  • Have two years teaching experience for Assistant Professors after completion of the PhD.
  • A strong research record as evidenced by publication in top tier journals.
  • Evidence of successful teaching effectiveness, academic and community service.
  • A record of professional integrity, collegiality, and commitment to diversity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative and collegial engagement, and building connections with area professionals, businesses, and alumni.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who can teach both in Arabic and English.

Responsibilities:

The Department of Public Relations in the College of Communication invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor in Media Management and Economics, that begins in Fall 2025.
This is to support our newly established MSc in Media Entrepreneurship and Digital Innovation that we deliver jointly with the University of Spain in Barcelona, with the support of Sharjah Media City.
The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in areas related to media economics, media managing strategies, creative industries, and Digital media marketing, design, practice. addition to general college requirements in media and communication. The ideal candidate should have an established track-record of research in high-impact journals and is expected to develop a research agenda that is competitive for internal and external funding.
