Position title: Pharmacology
Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $71,600 - $162,500. POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Department of Pharmacology (http://pharmacology.ucsd.edu) at the University of California - San Diego School of Medicine UCSD is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body.
The Department of Pharmacology is conducting an open search for Project Scientists and Research Scientists at the Assistant, Associate, or Full level to perform vital research, focusing on areas relevant to signal transduction, drug discovery, molecular specificity of therapeutic or environmental agents, drug disposition and action, structural and computational biology, cancer biology and inflammation.
Project Scientists make significant and creative contributions to a research project. Project scientists will be responsible for performing studies and experiments, providing onsite teaching to students in the lab, preparing presentations, and reporting and summarizing data.
Research Scientists are expected to serve as Principal Investigators on extramural grants, generate high-caliber publications and research products, develop and continuously lead an independent and creative research program of high quality and significance, teach and mentor postdocs and students in the laboratory, and garner scholarly reputations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have a PhD, a Doctoral degree, or equivalent in Pharmacological Sciences, or related fields.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates with postdoctoral training or equivalent experience are preferred.
Candidates with experience in building an independent research program and/or obtaining independent funding are also preferred.
