DESCRIPTION

This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
The Department of Agricultural, Food, and Nutritional Science at the University of Alberta is inviting applications for the tenure-track position Assistant/Associate Professor in Dietetics and Nutritional Science.
The successful candidate will be offered a tenured or tenure-track appointment with the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor, which is in accordance with the Academic Faculty Agreement, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
The successful candidate will join the Division of Human Nutrition, which is responsible for the delivery of the Dietetics Specialization within the Faculty of Agricultural, Life, and Environmental Sciences and the College of Natural and Applied Sciences at the University of Alberta.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a portfolio of Academic Excellence in Research, Teaching and Service/Administration. The scope of these activities will align broadly within Dietetics and Nutritional Science, as well as contribute to the teaching and administration of the Dietetics Specialization. There will be a significant opportunity for the successful candidate to develop service and leadership skills in academic programming and, as a Registered Dietitian, contribute to the administration of the Dietetic Specialization.
Qualified candidates must hold a PhD in Human Nutrition or a relevant discipline and must be a Registered Dietitian in Canada eligible for membership with the College of Dietitians of Alberta. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead, a strong record of teaching excellence, a sound understanding of numerous disciplines associated with Dietetic practice, and ability to fulfill a successful research program.
The successful candidate will be an ambassador for teaching best practice(s) and forge strong collaborative networks with other key partners and organizations at the University of Alberta, such as the Alberta Diabetes Institute, the Women and Children’s Health Research Institute (WCHRI) and other research Institutes, as well as external groups such as Alberta Health Services.
