Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Educational, Multicultural, and Exceptional Studies in the College of Education and Human Development is seeking applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Special Education. The department aim to recruit applicants who will produce impactful research and who will support teacher candidates as they become effective practitioners and researchers.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in the area of Special Education or closely related discipline.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) or more years of experience as a licensed educator in a K-12 setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstration of potential for excellence in the areas of teaching, service, student mentorship, research, and securing external funding.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality research-based instruction to initial and advanced level candidates using traditional, hybrid, and online instructional delivery methods.
- Collaborate with college and departmental faculty to ensure appropriate curriculum design and program evaluation.
- Mentor and supervise teacher candidates during field and clinical experiences.
- Advisement and mentorship for initial and advanced level candidates.
- Collaboration with educational agencies and community partners.
- Engage in scholarly activities which lead to the publication of quality research and securing external funding.
- Contribute to the mission of the university and profession through service activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
